Bell Work | Middle Grades

Tina Sabga | 4th Grade Teacher

This routine takes 15 minutes each day and gives students a chance to really internalize the virtues.

Each morning, I have students copy down some of the information about the virtues. This can be done from the interactive virtue tree or by using the instructional posters and/or virtue cards. I choose one of the Scripture verses for the students to memorize.

Every Day:

  • Write the definition of the virtue of the week
  • Each day write down a different example of “looks like/sounds like” (so that at the end of the week, your students have 5 different examples)
  • Write the Scripture quote of the week
  • Read about the saint of the day, and write down 3-4 facts

The following Monday, I assess the students on the virtue and verse.
