Definition:
Enables one to love as God loves, to love God above all things, and one’s neighbor as oneself
Prayer:
O Lord God, I love You above all things and I love my neighbor for Your sake because You are the highest, infinite, and perfect good, worthy of all my love. In this love I intend to live and die. Amen.
SAINT
Sts. Peter and Paul
“No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (Jn 15:13). After the Resurrection, Jesus questioned Peter, “Do you love me?” Peter replied, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you” (Jn 21:17). From the moment of their conversion, both St. Peter and St. Paul were men claimed by and filled with the love of Christ. In talking about his preaching, St. Paul wrote, “The love of Christ impels us…” (2 Cor 5:14). This love eventually led both St. Peter and St. Paul to give the ultimate proof of their love for Christ by laying down their lives for the sake of His gospel. Love transforms the Christian life, drawing even our least actions into relationship with God. This is why “faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love” (1 Cor 13:13).
PRACTICING CHARITY:
- I do the right thing, even when it’s unpopular.
- I stand up for things worth fighting for.
- I rise to the occasion and face up to things that are difficult.

So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
