Virtue Center

Disciple of Christ | Education in Virtue

Virtue Centers create a practical, visual focal point for the most important thing we do as educators: forming students to be lifelong disciples.

We have several downloads to help you create a virtue center in your classroom.  Check out the downloads below for the Virtue of the Week and Classroom Expectations Printables used in this teacher’s classroom.

Using a pocket chart makes it easy to swap out the virtue on a weekly basis. As part of her morning routine, this teacher has the students come up with their own looks-like / sounds like illustration for the virtue of the week.

This middle school teacher has incorporated some of these materials into her Virtue Steps.  Students move their name up a step when she recognizes them for practicing a virtue.  When they get to the top, they earn a point toward a whole classroom reward.

Classroom Expectations

When you use the language of the virtues to redirect inappropriate behavior you empower the student to cultivate the life of virtue.

A simple display?  A centerpiece for discussion at morning meeting? A positive incentive to practice virtuous behavior?  Virtue centers can be all this and more!
